VIDEO: Beltsville Volunteer Fire Department Community Meeting October 15, 2024

Here is the video of the Community Meeting on the Beltsville Fire Dept as well as the surrounding departments held on October 15, 2024 at 7 pm. We were informed last night by councilman Tom Dernoga that, even though it hasn't been said outright, he believes that after the election the Chief Tiffany Green will pull the career staff out of the Beltsville Fire Department. This would leave a gap in this side of the county in terms of fire coverage. You need to continue to call and email and flood their offices with messages demanding that return the career staff they have removed from the surrounding cities of Greenbelt, Berwyn Heights, Bowie, and Bunker Hill.

Chief Green is also still insisting that temporary trailers be placed on the grounds of the Fire Station in Beltsville at a cost of $500,000 to $1, 000, 000 when their own assessment shows that this is not necessary. There is no repair to the building that requires removing any staff. She is also not having any direct contact with the volunteers and is refusing to be at any meetings with the public. Here is all the info for you to contact and call
