The University of Maryland Extension Office presented a certificate of recognition to the volunteers of the Montgomery County Association for Family & Community Education for their many years of service to residents of the county. The award was presented to Jean Purich, President of MCAFCE, by Lynn Rubin Traversa, Area Extension Director, and her assistant Iany McDonald. This took place on January 5, 2024, during one of MCAFCE’s meetings to make comfort blankets for children in hospital and social services. (Donations of yarn and washed cotton or cotton/poly fabric are always accepted by FCE to make more blankets.)
