July 19th Maryland Primary

Maryland's 2022 Primary Election is on Tuesday, July 19th. We want to be sure you have the information you need.

What races are on the ballot?

— US Senate and House

— Governor, Attorney General, and Comptroller

— State Senator and Delegates

— County offices, including County Council, County Executive, and State's Attorney.

— Other important races, such as Circuit Court Judge and Democratic and Republican central committees.

Can I still register to vote?

Visit the Maryland State Board of Elections to register or check your registration status. The deadline to register to vote online has passed for the Primary election – but you can still register to vote during early voting or on election day by bringing proof of residence to your nearest polling place.

How do I vote by mail?

If you choose to vote by mail, you must request your ballot through the state Board of Elections website by July 12th. You can drop your ballot off at a drop box or put it in the mail anytime up through July 19th.

How do I vote in person?

You can also vote in person at the Laurel-Beltsville Senior Center or the College Park Community Center (check your voter registration to know which is your polling place). Early voting begins July 7th and runs through July 14th, open 7am to 8pm. Election day is Tuesday, July 19th, and will last from 7am to 8pm.

Senate College Scholarship Application Deadline – Friday, July 8 Each Senator and Delegate is allocated funds for scholarships to students in our district who attend Maryland colleges. There are so many deserving students in Beltsville. With college tuition a struggle for many families, we need to do everything we can to help hardworking students get a good education. We can't help everyone with Senatorial Scholarships, but we can certainly help some. To apply online for a 2022 - 2023 Senate scholarship, students should visit www.21stdistrictdelegation.com/college-scholarships, and the deadline to apply is Friday, July 8. The application period has ended for a separate Delegate scholarship from Delegates Joseline Peña-Melnyk, Ben Barnes, and Mary Lehman, but look to apply early next year.
