Greenbelt Co-op Supermarket Celebrates 40 Years

Greenbelt Co-op Supermarket Celebrates 40 Years of community and history with Local Food Fair

Greenbelt Co-op is excited to spend Sunday, June 2 from 11 am – 1 pm with their local vendors for a food fair as they celebrate 40 years as Greenbelt’s beloved community-owned grocery store and pharmacy.

Greenbelt Co-op has added several local products this year, and the co-op team is excited to partner with even more in the future. To commemorate four decades of serving the community, Co-op is hosting a local food fair in Historic Roosevelt Center. They will highlight the rich diversity of the many small local producers the Co-op features.

Visitors can enjoy a fun and community-filled Sunday by enjoying samples of fresh-popped popcorn, Filipino lumpia, fruit and vegetable sorbet, beers, and more.

General Manager, Dan Gillotte, is “excited to celebrate Greenbelt Co-op’s first local food fair celebration with local vendors. This will highlight the commitment Co-op has to the local economy and local small businesses.” Gillotte continued, “It’s wonderful to celebrate the storied history of our special cooperative enterprise in historic Greenbelt! Our community spirit is exemplified at Co-op.”
