County Animal Services Division Looking For Volunteers
The Prince George's County Animal Services Division is looking for volunteers to assist with walking and training dogs, socializing and feeding animals, cleaning, laundry, office assistance, facility greeting, and off-site events. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain knowledge in the animal welfare industry and exposure to different career paths. High school students between 14 and 17 can volunteer and acquire community service hours. They must attend orientation, complete the Volunteer Application, and schedule a morning or afternoon shift any Monday through Friday. Only volunteers 18 years and older can apply to work directly with animals. These volunteers must attend an orientation and facility tour, schedule one-on-one meetings with a volunteer coordinator, and commit to at least 4 hours per month.
Potential volunteers may visit the Animal Services Division Facility at 3750 Brown Station Road, Upper Marlboro for more information and to apply. You can find and print a copy of the application form from this link: https://bit.ly/PGVolunteerASD. You can also call 301-780-7200 for additional information.
