A celebration of the life of Larry E. Hartzell, Sr. will be held on 28 October, 12 noon to 6 pm, at the Beltsville-Adelphi Boys & Girls Club facility, 11705 Roby Avenue in Beltsville.
Larry died peacefully in his sleep on June 4, 2023, at his home in Richlands, NC. He was born June 29,1960 in Tromso, Norway. He was 62 years old. He enjoyed Scouting as a boy, was a Cub Scout leader and helped with first aid during summer camps. He played soccer for a traveling team and played out of the USA. Larry was a soccer coach for the Beltsville Adelphi Boys and Girls Club. Larry is survived by his wife, Joan Ellen Yakupkovic Hartzell, daughter Elizabeth Hartzell and son Larry Hartzell Jr., his mother and sister and many nieces and nephews. Larry Hartzell Sr. would become a grandfather in November 2023.
