Beltsville Library’s 25th Anniversary
To mark twenty-five years of service to the community, the library staff is planning a day of celebration on Saturday, January 29, 2000. There will be activities for children as well as adults, culminating with a gospel performance at 2 p.m.
The year 2000, and the month of January specifically, signify twenty-five years of service which the Beltsville Branch of the county library system has offered to the community and its surroundings. The Beltsville Public Library opened its doors to the public in three interconnecting trailers at 11731 Old Gunpowder Road on January 6, 1975. Nine years later in February 1984, the library moved to its present location at 4319 Sellman Road, where the process and tradition of excellent service continue to the present day.
