A Bit of 20th Century History

VFW Post 10262 Quartermaster Walter S. Mietus recently presented a corncob pipe owned by General Douglas MacArthur to the MacArthur Memorial located in Norfolk, VA. The pipe, a trademark of General MacArthur, was given to Colonel John Donohoe of Boston/Dorchester City, MA on September 2, 1949 by the General. Upon his demise, his wife gave this pipe to Mietus, who deeded it to the Memorial collection on April 1, 1999.
