Harriet A. Frye passed away on December 12 at the age of 95. She was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi. At the age of 3, her family moved to Mobile, Alabama. In 1934 she moved to Washington D. C. She graduated from McKinley Tech High School in D.C. In 1943, during WWII, she joined the women’s marine corp and served until 1945.
She married Lawrence A. Frye on October 20, 1946. They resided in P.G. County from that time on. She lived in Beltsville for the last 28 years. During that time she served as a volunteer in the reading lab at Beltsville Academic Center.
She is survived by 3 children, 8 grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
