Reminder: Health Insurance Deadline Is December 15
Delegates Barbara Frush, Joseline Peña-Melnyk, Ben Barnes, and I want to be sure all working families can sign up for affordable health insurance. Despite all the proposals in congress to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA), it is still in effect. Now—through December 15—is the time to learn about coverage—and other ways to save money on health insurance. Open enrollment runs until December 15. Be sure to enroll or change plans by visiting www.marylandhealthconnection.gov or call toll-free 1.855.642.8572.
Free Flu Shots for County Residents until December 29
Every year, the Prince George’s Health Department offers free flu vaccinations for county residents. Injectable flu vaccines are available to anyone age six months and older; no appointment is necessary. The walk-in clinic is open Monday–Friday (while supplies last until Dec. 29) from 9am–3pm at Cheverly Health Center (3003 Hospital Drive, Suite 2061, Cheverly, MD 20785).
